VW Van Centre - York

JCT 600 and VW Commercials were seeking a new corporate image for the main entrance of it's new van centre at Clifton Moor in York. As this was a pilot scheme the clients representative Houseman and Falshaw required input from the specialist contractor in terms of surface finishes and wear characteristics. Following initial submissions Bosa Contracts were chosen as the preferred rendering contractor.

Setting out and installation to very low tolerances (+ or - 1mm over 3m straight edge) was essential, As metal angle beading and stop ends were used to create the feature bands. These bands were rendered using Weber Building Systems OCR 2 a Fibre Reinforced modified render that can be applied and finished to exact tolerances in all planes with minimum or no shrinkage cracks and crazing which are commonly associated with traditional sand : cement renders.

The coating system adopted was an Anti-Carbonation coating manufactured by Resin Building Products, to the specific RAL yellow and grey colours specified by the client. This type of coating was chosen because it is vapour permeable which allows the building to breathe and has excellent wear and colour opacity on both internal and external elevations.
