Scope of works:

• Hammer Testing
• Break out defective areas of concrete
• Mechanically clean and prime all exposed areas of steel reinforcement bars which had previously rusted
• Application of Sika Ferrogard corrosion inhibitor
• Repair and rebuild all defective areas of concrete
• Apply exposed stone finish to repairs to match existing
• Application of fairing coat
• Application of anti-carbonation elastomeric coatings

About the project:

The Rotherham Council buildings were suffering from numerous structural defects including spalls, cracks and sections with significant loss.

The specification provided by Sika UK, incorporated their total corrosion management approach to significantly increase the lifespan of the structure, whilst improving the aesthetics of the two prominent town centre structurers.
